Your £50 Invisalign consultation
We'll start with a relaxed chat with one of our Invisalign-trained dentists to talk through what you'd like to change about your smile. We'll have a good look at your teeth, answer all your questions, and let you know honestly whether Invisalign is the right fit for you.
Digital scans and your treatment plan
If you decide to go ahead, we'll take detailed scans and photos of your teeth. These are used to create a digital preview of how your teeth will move and what your finished smile could look like - a proper "wow" moment for most patients.
Your aligners arrive
Your custom-made aligners are produced and sent to the practice. We'll fit your first set, show you how to put them in and take them out, and give you everything you need to look after them at home.
Wearing your aligners
You'll wear each set of aligners for one to two weeks before swapping to the next. They need to stay in for around 22 hours a day, but they come out for meals, drinks (other than water) and brushing your teeth. This process allows you to improve your smile without fixed braces or frequent adjustment appointments.
Quick check-ins along the way
We'll see you at the practice every six to ten weeks for a short check on your progress. These appointments are quick and straightforward, usually just to make sure everything's tracking nicely.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Most Invisalign treatments take between 6 and 18 months, depending on how much movement is needed. Smaller corrections, like closing a small gap or straightening one or two teeth, can sometimes be completed in as little as 3 to 6 months. We'll give you a clear time estimate at your consultation, based on your specific treatment plan.
Does Invisalign hurt?
You can expect a feeling of pressure or tenderness for the first day or two after switching to a new set of aligners - that's a sign they're working. Most patients describe it as mild discomfort that settles quickly. Compared to traditional fixed braces, Invisalign tends to feel much more comfortable, with no sharp wires or brackets to irritate your cheeks and lips.
Can I eat and drink normally with Invisalign?
Yes. Because the aligners come out for meals, you can eat and drink whatever you like. Just remember to brush your teeth before popping them back in. The only things to avoid while wearing them are hot drinks and anything other than water, as these can stain or warp the aligners.
Do you accept Invisalign patients from outside St Margarets?
Absolutely. While many of our Invisalign patients live locally in St Margarets and central Twickenham, we welcome new patients from across the TW1 postcode and the wider Richmond upon Thames borough - including East Twickenham, Isleworth, Whitton and Strawberry Hill. Will I need to wear a retainer afterwards?
